My jewelry and metalwork is about passage of time. It references not just time itself, but the aesthetics of contemporary and historical objects that mark that passage. Through precise craftsmanship and microscopic detail that often makes reference to moon cycles, numbers, and constellations I strive to evoke in the viewer feelings of discovery and remembrance.
I have always been drawn to found artifacts, fossils, old barns objects and places after their prime or at the end of their cycle. To create the textures and details that remind me of these things I use a variety of metalworking and enameling techniques. I want my jewelry to be functional as well as intimately intriguing, conveying beauty that occurs as time passes toward the end of a natural cycle, and translating the aesthetics of marking time in general.
