My Thesis exhibition will open April 17th from 5-7pm in the Grey Gallery in the Jenkins Fine Art Building in Greenville North Carolina.
After party begins at 7:30, downtown, at the Tipsy Teapot in the "party room"
Come one! Come all!
I am planning an online exhibition to open in the week following the physical opening. Please check my website in the week following April 17. If you would like to be added to either my email list, or snail mail list, please leave your information in my contact area or email me.
I have just returned home from a Stone Setting Comprehensive classes offered at the New Approach School for Jewelers. The class lasted 5 days and it totally rocked my world! I feel so much more confidant tackling more complex stone setting now. The class covered:
bead and bright
prong, tiffany style setting
heavy wall oval bezel
and setting princess cut stones.
In addition to all of that we customized our own tools.
I made some fantastic new friends from the South East region. 3 lovely ladies that I plan on taking many classes with in the future. Also, the Crowne Plaza Hotel was a posh stay and a great value.
All in all my working vacation was just that. I'm ready to tackle hand engraving, or maybe the advanced stone setting class.
New ETSY store, Yippee!
Because it is my goal to eventually become self sufficient selling my work I have decided to get with the program and actually DO IT.
I am going to sell limited edition production pieces in an Etsy store starting this summer.
The goal it to try my hand at making "production-y" pieces that are related to my big one of a king pieces. And to do in before my time in the student loan safety net is up!
These pieces will feature many of the same materials but be smaller and more affordable than the bigger portfolio pieces shown on my website. Be on the look out for my store! I will post when it is up and running. Thank you for checking in.
My work was featured today (may 30, 2008) on this jewelry blog
check it out!
New website! hurray
Mitch and I have decided (after much debate) to have separate websites and link to our studio/store site. Obligatos.com will be up later in the year - or perhaps once we actually move into what will be our studio and shop space. In the meantime please enjoy our individual sites and check back often for updates.
If you would like to be added to my email list please message me through my contact link or email me at email@example.com
and let me know what you think.
